Installation (Mac)
Installing from a Disk Image file
Depending on your browser's settings, some of these steps may be performed automatically. Simply follow the steps until you reach those that are applicable to your download.

Depending on your Mac internet settings, your download
may be a Disk
Image (.dmg) file. This file is the equivalent of a virtual
disk. Double-clicking the dmg file opens it for use in the Finder. |
Some disk images, such as the MSB disk image, will present a license agreement that you must accept to use the software contained within.

A mounted (open) disk image appears in the Finder just
like any other
hard disk or USB drive. Double-click this virtual disk to view its contents. |

If the disk image's window contains a MSB Installer,
just double-click the package. Then proceed to 'After Installation'
below. |

If the disk image's window contains the
MobileSyncBrowser application, you must drag it to your Applications
folder. Do not run MSB while it is still on the virtual disk. If you do, MSB will report an error. |

MSB must be copied to your
startup disk before use. It is strongly recommended that you copy it to
your Applications folder. Using a consistent location
prevents having more than one version or copy of MSB installed if you
upgrade later.

Locate your Application folder. You will find it listed
inside your main hard drive. Drag the MSB icon onto the Applications
icon to install the program. |
Your system may ask for an administrative user name and password to complete the copy operation. MobileSyncBrowser is now installed in your Applications folder and ready for use.

Once the copy has completed, you should unmount (eject) the virtual disk by selecting its window or icon and pressing Command-E. |

You may then drag the downloaded dmg file to the Trash. |
